Easy Homemade Tartare Sauce {For Fish 'n' Chips}
Here's a really easy recipe for yummy homemade tartare sauce which is so easy to make and tastes far better than shop bought. Homemade tartare sauce is perfect with fish and chips or spread on a fish finger sandwich - seriously, it's the best .
A really good mayonnaise makes all the difference here - but you can low fat mayo if you prefer. You can blitz the ingredients in a food processor to save time chopping. Once made, tartare sauce keeps in the fridge for a week, just give it a good stir before serving.
Easy Homemade Tartare Sauce {For Fish 'n' Chips}
Time: 5 minutes
Makes: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
200g mayonnaise
2-3 tbsps finely chopped capers
2-3 tbsps finely chopped gherkins
2-3 tbsps finely chopped parsley
Lemon juice to taste
Salt & pepper to taste
Method:
Mix the mayonnaise, capers, gherkins and parsley together with a squeeze of lemon. Taste and add more lemon if you like. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Alternatively, blitz the capers, gherkins & parsley in a food processor before stirring through the mayonnaise, lemon juice and seasoning to taste.
